PRE-TREATMENT PEST CONTROL ADVICE

Before starting a pest control activity at a place for a customer, a licensed technician must give the customer a notice (a pre-treatment pest control advice) for the activity per Section 13 of the Medicines and Poisons (Pest Management Activities) Regulation 2021 in the State of Queensland. The pre-treatment pest control advice may be given personally, by mail or electronically.

The following information on this webpage is your pre-treatment pest control advice given to you electronically by a licensed technician. We encourage you to read the page carefully and follow the precautions noted and the instructions given by the licensed technician.

Please contact the office or on the day of treatment, discuss in detail with the technician any concerns you may have. Below is a lists & SDS of all our products we use, each treatment will vary from property to property.

The following precautions are recommended to minimise exposure to any pesticide utilised for pest management activity:

  1. Before the commencement of work, you must inform us of any individuals or pets on-site, as well as any known allergies or health-related concerns.
  2. Persons particularly sensitive or prone to allergic reactions should vacate the premises for up to twenty-four (24) hours, returning only after the area has been thoroughly ventilated.
  3. Any air-conditioners should be left on ‘vent mode’ for at least four hours after treatment to circulate outside air into the building.
  4. If contact with a treated area occurs and symptoms manifest, immediate contact should be made with the Poisons Information Centre at 13 11 26. Have this notice accessible when calling.
  5. It is mandatory to cover all food items and utensils for humans, pets, and animals prior to treatment, following provided directions.
  6. The removal or protection of individuals, animals, birds, or fish is required during treatment. Pets and animals should be kept away from treated areas until the insecticide has dried and any odour has dissipated.
  7. As directed, all clothing and items must be removed from your clothesline before treatment.
  8. Avoidance of contact with treated surfaces until the insecticide has dried is advised. The drying process may take between three (3) to twenty-four (24) hours.
  9. Doors and windows should remain closed during the treatment until any odour has cleared for external treatments, which may take up to twenty-four hours.
  10. When accessing or working in roof voids or subfloor areas, wearing overalls and gloves, along with a respirator, is essential to avoid contact with insecticidal products. The protective clothing should be washed separately or disposed of promptly.
  11. Adherence to verbal instructions provided by our firm or licensed technician during treatment is essential.
  12. Water Tanks: Treatment around water tanks that are not fully sealed or in water collection areas is prohibited. You are responsible for advising us of any water tank installations.

By following these precautions, the risk of exposure to pesticides can be minimised, ensuring a safer environment for all involved.

WHAT IS PEST CONTROL?

The control of established or resident pest/infestations and working collaboratively with clients for the safest and very best solutions

Limiting or stopping the establishment or the re-establishment of insect pest e.g. cockroaches, fleas, etc when there is a recurrence of the pest for which we have treated your home or business e.g. one or two cockroaches seen flying or crawling in to your home does not necessarily mean, you have a problem as these pets will crawl into areas that have been treated and die. However, if the problem is persistent, i.e. the same pests seen continuously and generally in the same area, please call our friendly team for further advice.

COCKROACHES

The warranty covers most common household cockroaches Australian, American and/or Asian. German cockroaches, however, require specialist services message and Products. They successfully inhabit buildings, over other species, there a number of factors which contribute to this a shorter life cycle, coupled with an ability to consistently reproduce accelerate population growth in a very short period of time German cockroaches are also faster and smaller than other species making detection extremely difficult, large populations can survive and grow in a small space, such as the back of a dishwasher, and may never be seen until the population explodes.

As they move through the home typically, in the dark, they secrete, an odorous discharge from their bodies, which also taints and contaminate food and transmit bacteria as they walk transferring pathogens such as salmonella and E. coli to every area they scurry across. They also Shed cuticles, faeces and other cockroaches’ debris, which are known asthma and allergic allergy, triggers. Specialized pesticides, and methods must be used to control Germans because they produce and through evolution have become almost immune to most common pesticides.

ANTS

Any guarantee given on ants is for the common black house ant (External) only and does not include suburban termites, commonly known as white ants we recommend regular termite inspections and treatment where necessary to protect your home and property from these destructive pests. There are many different species of ants, all require different specialized treatments & products. This can be discussed with the technician or the office team at any time.

When we have treated your home for ants, we can eliminate the majority of them, but we cannot guarantee total elimination due to the nature of the environment we live in, therefore expect to see a few from time to time, but if you witness a significant number of ants tracking inside your home during the service period, please call us. Do remember that ants can live in areas most of us would not even consider. i.e. stored items, power points, boxes, walls, roof gutters. Among the park the trees and the heavy matting in leaf bases in crowns of palm trees, sidewalks, hollows in bricks, poles, and post they could travel along street gutters in driveways, fence lines and anything else that may be attached to your home.

SILVERFISH

Silverfish are nocturnal and secretive insects that are difficult to spot, making it easy for an infestation to occur. They have destructive feeding habits and will feed on an unusual diet, which includes paper and glue, making wallpaper and books key targets. Your treatment service will kill any silverfish moving through treated zones i.e. skirting boards and cupboards bases. If there is an infestation, a tailored treatment will be required.

SPIDERS

The warranty is for external webbing spiders only. The treatment will only affect web spindling spiders since we are able to site the webbing and apply pesticide directly to their harbourage and webs. Environments within the home such as bookshelves lamps and stored boxes within wardrobes children’s toys and clutter may at some stage provide harbourage for spiders it is with respect that personal items are not handled at any time. Daddy longlegs are most common inside homes, we can treat these that we see, however cannot control those we cannot see.
